New Inspector of Courts Assumes Office
Chief Registrar, HW Gadenya looking on as the outgoing Inspector of Courts, HW Tadeo Asiimwe hands over office to HW Dr Immaculate Busingye the new Inspector of Courts

Outgoing Inspector of Courts, HW Tadeo Asiimwe, on October 19, 2017, formally handed over the instruments of office to Her Worship Dr Immaculate Busingye.

The handover took place in the presence of the Chief Registrar, HW Gadenya Paul Wolimbwa, who thanked HW Asiimwe for the more than three years he has been Inspector of Courts.

He wished him well in his new role as Registrar of the Court of Appeal and urged him to assist the new administration in building a stronger and more respectable Court.

The Chief Registrar expressed optimism that HW Asiimwe will champion the cause in transforming the Appellate Court which has a lot of backlog.

He also welcomed HW Dr Busingye to the new office especially at a time when the Inspectorate has many challenges such as growing indiscipline of judicial officers, especially at the lower bench and increasing backlog.

HW Gadenya urged the new Inspector of Courts to come up with a strategy to overcome the challenges so as to implement the Chief Justice's agenda of Transforming the Judiciary.

He further pledged to support the officers in their new assignments whenever need arises. The handover which took place in the Chief Registrar's chambers was witnessed by Deputy Registrars HW Deo Nzeyimana and HW Isah Serunkuma.
